The proposed green roof is intentionally designed to support vegetation. Green roofs benefit wildlife and ease the load on drainage systems. by reducing water run-off. The provide additional insulation and prolong the life of the roof by protecting it´s surface from the elements. Low profile solar panels can sit flat within this living roof.

Clever use of design and nature means that the building is hidden from view from the road and neighbouring properties.

With a footprint of less then 25% of the total site, the well-constructed design sits comfortably within the exisiting landscape.

The proposed design will not reduce any of the current garden space, making use of green roofs, terraces and landscaping.

Sustainability Statement

Maintaining natural flora of area providing ecological benefits with drought resistant planting. Aromatic planting to create low maintenance ‘kitchen garden’ to provide for residence and provide flowers for pollinators. Flower borders can be extremely valuable for wildlife and a mix of herbaceous, biennial and annual flowering plants has been proposed around the terraces providing flowers for most months of the year, bringing year-round colour and opportunities and resources for wildlife.

Proposed Design

La Font 87 welcomes you with its understated low rise entrance level. Garages and a guest annex book end the reception to which you enter, immediately revealing incredible views and the curvaceous spiral staircase downward.
Descending from the entrance level you pause a moment, taking in the views and then the interior. You are now on the living level with it’s panoramic glazing, naturally finished surfaces and quality furnishing, designed to harmonise with the environment outside.

The kitchen, with it’s rock face like island and wood veneered walls, blend in so not to compete with the vista outside. The cloud like chandelier floats over the veneered dining table and large archways lead to the bodega and larder.

Turning away from the kitchen and dining space, walking past the lounge and towards the games room, you turn and look out. In front of you, luxurious sun loungers, soft landscaping and the glass bottomed dipping pool which you could step serenely into.

The furniture continues the theme of comfort, hand crafted wooden frames, fine metals, light fabrics and sumptuous leather. The lighting is mood set and provides the perfect ambiance throughout the day and night.

The master ensuite is lined in stone, it has a double basin, large bath and rain shower with one way glazing so you feel completely natural and at one with the world.
Natural finishes continue to help blend furnishings into this setting. Mood set control systems operate lighting and curtains and outside a hot tub from which are framed the most amazing views.

Heading down to the private level you find the cinema for a little escapism. Or perhaps you would prefer a private office, or yoga studio.
